This is because Amazing Grace Bakery & Cafe is re-opening as Amazing Grace Grocery & Cafe.
Owner, Connor Riley said guests will still be able to visit the bakery or dine in, but now they will also be able to shop for produce, dairy, eggs and basic necessities like diapers.
“Amazing Grace—for 25 years—has been really solidly rooted in community for Duluth and we want to keep that going,” Riley said.
According to Riley, he and his family decided to make the change after temporarily closing as a result of COVID-19. They hope the change will better serve the community.
“I think with this grocery store—still keeping it as a meeting place and having coffee and stuff for people—will kind of open Canal Park up a little more for local residents versus just for tourists,” Riley said.
To make the grocery store possible, about three quarters of the dining space will be transformed to include shelves, refrigerators and freezers. But, Amazing Grace will still have room to sit 20 to 30 people.
Due to COVID-19, Amazing Grace will begin with takeout and patio dining.
The change will come the second week of July.
