The owners of Ciro Food & Drink at the Wilmington Riverfront have taken over the former De La Coeur cafe off Lovering Avenue.
The new bistro will be called Ciro Forty Acres, said Michael DiBianca, who will be the restaurant's executive chef.
He said the plan is to reopen with the new concept sometime after July 4.
Alex and Gretchen Sianni, owners of the popular De La Coeur Café et Pâtisserie, announced in late May that they would permanently closed their flagship location off Lovering Avenue in Wilmington's Forty Acres neighborhood, as well as a new cafe in Independence Mall off Concord Pike.

They had operated the Forty Acres site since October 2015, and had only opened the Concord Pike cafe this past February.
Delaware's restaurant industry has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic after Gov. John Carney forced dining rooms to close on March 16.
According to the Delaware Restaurant Association, about 20 to 30% of Delaware operators have said they might have to permanently close their food and drinking establishments because of lost revenue.
Delaware restaurants were allowed to resume restricted dine-in services, at only 30% percent capacity, on June 1. Restrictions will be eased again on June 15, when restaurants are allowed to have more guests inside buildings. Seating capacity at that time will increase to 60%.
Since March 2019, DiBianca has run Ciro Food & Drink at 321 Justison St. with his business partner Venu Gaddamidi. The bistro is inside of Gaddamidi's Veritas Wine & Craft Beer shop at the Wilmington Riverfront.
The quaint space with just 28 seats pairs DiBianca's signature new American-style cuisine with a wine and beer list selected by Gaddamidi.
DiBianca, well-known for his Moro restaurant which opened in 2002, stepped away from the hospitality business in 2016 when he closed the critically acclaimed Wilmington eatery.
While at Moro, DiBianca, a New Jersey native, was named as a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Mid-Atlantic regional chef award.
DiBianca said the new Ciro Forty Acres will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. He said they plan to serve breakfast, all-day brunch and lunch.

The restaurant will eventually start a dinner service, "but not until after the whole COVID thing," DiBianca said.
He said the restaurant will have full-service and will also be selling pastries, breads and coffee.
DiBianca said he and Gaddamidi are currently renovating the interior of the cafe and creating a new kitchen. The dining room will have 28 seats, as well as outdoor seating.
DiBianca said they hope in the future to apply for a liquor license.
"We'll see how that goes," he said.
