Lone Star Café Coming to Plano - Plano Magazine

Local resident Arzie Odza hopes to continue her family’s tradition of excelling in the restaurant world with the opening of Lone Star Café in east Plano this July. Her parents, Nash and Aisha Odza, opened the beloved Allen Café in 1997, and Arzie has been a part of the action from the very beginning.

“I started off waitressing, bussing tables, hostess-ing, working the cash register, washing dishes and cooking. Being the owners’ daughter, I had no choice but to fill in when people called in sick, so I learned every aspect of working in a restaurant very early on,” Arzie shared.

After many years of working alongside her parents while also earning her college degree and then working as an IT professional, Arzie is getting ready to open up Lone Star Café at 1405 Jupiter Rd. She also plans to open a second location in Rockwall by January.

“I am putting my heart and soul into Lone Star Café. It has been my dream to create this concept that’s been sitting in my head for a while now. I want to be an example of hard work, grit and determination for my children, like my parents have been for me,” she said.

Lone Star Café will be a Texas-themed breakfast and lunch café offering a variety of options including omelettes, pancakes, French toast, classic American breakfasts, rib eye steak, patty melts, Reubens, salads, soups, wraps, a few Mexican-style breakfasts and even low-carb options.

Arzie’s passion for service and food stems from a love for the field she has worked in her entire life, but even more than that, from her love for people. Her desire to grow a successful restaurant is a reflection of how much she truly enjoys brightening people’s days with her kind disposition and knack for delicious food.

“I want Lone Star Café to become a go-to place for families, to be like their second home – even my employees. I don’t want it to be that we just work together; I want us to be a family. Because if your employees are happy, your customers are happy,” Arzie shared.
