Tom’s Restaurant, local American coffee shop of Seinfeld fame, 2880 Broadway (112th). Actually, John the manager reminded us that only the outside corner and sign were used on Seinfeld, which was filmed in a studio. Tom’s is open for pickup and delivery (use UberEats and Doordash) or call (212) 864-6137. ”Business is not good,” John said, ruefully. “Columbia University is out. I hope this virus goes away, so we can all live free.”

Indian Tanpura, classic lineup of curries, rice & grilled meats, 564 Amsterdam (87th). Tipster Karen La Rosa wrote, “This place is a favorite haunt of Mark Ruffalo and other West Side names. Alec Baldwin was a regular when he lived nearby. A hopping place with terrific food. The Makhni is fabulous.” Open for pickup and delivery (212) 721-8700.

Cafe Fiorello, thin-crust pizzas & classic Italian mains, an institution across the street from Lincoln Center, 1900 Broadway (63rd-64th). General Manager Michael Vitanza wrote to tell us “Café Fiorello reopened on June 1st for delivery and take-out between the hours of 12PM and 9PM. We will have a bartender at the ready and you will see café tables set outside to remind us of what normal used to look like. Plowshares Coffee Roasters, fine specialty coffees, 2730 Broadway (104th)  “UWS…We’re on our way back! We are reopening our Broadway Store, Wednesday-Sundays (closed Mon/Tues for now) 8AM-3PM. To keep our employees and you safe, we are only accepting orders placed online for pickup at the door. Please be patient as we work out the new service kinks. We will slowly bring back our bakery items as our partners bring their businesses back online and we are excited to offer you some new surprises.
