Founded in 2007 in Taiwan, Asian dessert shop Meet Fresh now has over 500 locations around the globe. The chain landed in San Diego last year, opening its first outpost in Mira Mesa, and local franchise owner Roland Chan is preparing to launch a second location in Kearny Mesa.
Meet Fresh is known for an extensive menu, based on traditional Taiwanese desserts like shaved ice bowls or sweet, warm soups topped with everything from red beans and barley to sweet potato, grass jelly, and taro balls as well as a large selection of tea drinks including fresh milk green tea with boba and pineapple black tea with lychee jelly and small bites such as mochi and egg waffles. There are also seasonal treats, ranging from strawberry milk shaved ice offered in warmer months or hot almond soup served in the fall and winter.
Meet Fresh is coming to the Gateway Center on Clairemont Mesa Avenue, which also houses Simsim Outstanding Shawarma. It’s currently scheduled for a fall debut.
