An Extraordinarily Special Non-Profit Coming to LBI Summer 2021!
Compassion Café is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit recently founded by Sue Sharkey and Erin Sharkey with the goal of providing meaningful employment for adolescents and adults with disabilities. Rounding out the board of trustees are Kevin Bradley, Paula Cassidy Deely and Andrea Szott to pilot this community effort in order to change the scope of employment for those with different abilities and to bring this unique opportunity to the Southern Ocean County area.
Compassion Café’s sole mission is to employ local adolescents and adults with special needs by providing a work environment catered to training and support, so each individual is able to develop appropriate vocational skills in a natural work setting.
Compassion Café is going to be an extraordinarily special non profit and we want you to be a part of it! Our hope is to offer part-time summer employment in a small coffee shop setting while partnering with local businesses in a true non-profit model. Compassion Café plans to be ready to open May 2021 and currently seeking a location host. The opportunity to be a location host will rotate annually.
