Buddy Brew Coffee will open their first St. Petersburg location on 4th Street North.
The popular Tampa Bay coffee roaster will open a cafe at 2424 4th Street N as part of a new mixed-use retail development, according to the local blog St. Pete Rising. Other businesses in the development will include a yoga studio, a juice and smoothie bowl spot and a Nothing Bundt Cakes shop, which recently opened.
Dave Ward, the co-owner and co-founder of Buddy Brew Coffee runs the business with his wife, Susan. They first launched the company in 2007, roasting coffee out of the garage in their Hyde Park home. The couple opened their first coffee bar in 2010.
Since then, the local roaster and cafe has grown to include multiple locations across the Tampa Bay area, including the original Tampa coffee shop and roastery on W Kennedy Avenue, a location in Hyde Park, a spot inside Tampa’s Oxford Exchange and one in downtown Tampa’s Park Tower, a cafe inside Tampa International Airport and a Sarasota location. The company also has the BBC Brewtruck, a mobile coffee truck that pops up at events, office buildings and festivals.
Construction at the new St. Petersburg space is still in the early phases and no opening date has been announced yet. In the meantime, Buddy Brew Coffee is set to open another Tampa location in the coming weeks at 3302 W Bay to Bay Boulevard in the same building as the newly opened Chill Bros. Scoop Shop.
