Election Day is here.
Around the nation voters are deciding whether to give President Donald Trump another term in office, or pick Democratic candidate former Vice-President Joe Biden. A number of minor party candidates are on the ballot as well.
In statewide races, voters will be choosing a Secretary of State, State Treasurer and Attorney General, plus making a pick in the race for U.S. Senate between incumbent Democrat Jeff Merkley and Republican Jo Rae Perkins. There is a hotly contested race in the 4th Congressional District where Peter DeFazio is being challenged by Alek Skarlatos.
State Senator Dallas Heard and state representatives Gary Leif, Cedric Hayden and David Brock Smith all have challengers from the Democratic Party.
In the County, Sheriff John Hanlin and Clerk Daniel Loomis are unopposed. Sam Lee is the only candidate for Douglas County Treasurer.
In the City of Roseburg, there are two contested council races. Voters in other cities have council races as well, though many are uncontested
Voters in Winston have two questions before them regarding marijuana. One is whether to loosen regulations on where marijuana retailers can be located while the other is whether to impose a city tax on the sale of marijuana. Reedsport voters will decide on a similar measure as well.
Election coverage on News Radio 1240 KQEN begins with national reports from FOX News Radio starting at 5:30 p.m. Local, regional and statewide coverage will be offered in reports after 8:00 p.m. which will be mixed in with the national coverage.
