Back in late September, Epic Café reopened its doors after closing and then went up for sale. Now, the corner coffee spot on Fourth Avenue is beginning again as Café Maggie, A Neighborhood Spot.
Since the early ’90s, Epic Café has served caffeine, pastries, and comfort down on Fourth Avenue, and it was sad to see it close. However, the new owner, George Shaar, has taken over and is giving the coffee shop a new beginning.
“We believe that in order to better serve the neighborhood community, we need to start a new life; create new beginnings,” Café Maggie shared on Facebook. “Because of this belief, we are very excited to announce that the corner of Fourth Avenue and University will be known as Café Maggie.”
The menu, which features pastries, sandwiches, salads, teas, and coffee, will be familiar to those that used to regularly stop in, but a few new additions will be up for grabs, too — gluten-free and Vegan Banana Blueberry Muffins, espresso, or Avo Toast, anyone?
The inside of the cafe has been remodeled to incorporate a socially distanced experience, and more seating has been added to the front patio as well.
The regular hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Tuesday – Sunday.
Café Maggie is located at 745 N. Fourth Ave. For more information and the full menu, call (520) 829-7280 or visit cafemaggie.com.
