A cafe in Floral Park is proving that they don't just serve your regular cup of coffee - the unique beans are carefully grown at a family farm in Central America.
Abigail Rivera is the owner of Rivers Cafe USA.
At Rivers Café USA, the coffee beans come from the family's farm in El Salvador.
Pictures on the wall of the cafe show the pride and hard work that go into bringing a taste of Latin America to Long Island. “It's not just coffee, it's more about passion, sacrifice, time. All the families that [are] working together at our plantations and farms to bring the best quality to your cup,” says Rivera. Aside from the delicious coffee, Rivera serves a unique assortment of all-natural homemade juices like cashew, guava, and guanabana juice.
However, success wasn't easy for Rivera, as an immigrant she invested everything she had into her business and when she had her grand opening at the end of February she never expected a pandemic would shut down her business two weeks later. When she was finally able to reopen in July, Rivera was more determined than ever before.
