2021 Schedule
Home-and-away
Kansas City (14-2): The Chiefs have won 11 consecutive meetings against the Broncos, including 43-16 and 22-16 this past season. The Broncos are chasing a team that is favored to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
Las Vegas (8-8): An interesting offseason for the Raiders after they went from 6-3 to missing the playoffs for the 17th time in 18 years. New defensive coordinator? How about a whole new defense?
L.A. Chargers (7-9): The Bolts have their quarterback in Justin Herbert and will get pass rusher Melvin Ingram and safety Derwin James back from injury. Let’s see if coach Anthony Lynn returns.
Home
Baltimore (11-5): The Broncos get their first chance to game plan for quarterback Lamar Jackson, who led his team to five consecutive wins to finish this season and leads the Ravens in rushing.
Cincinnati (4-11-1): Quarterback Joe Burrow was showing play-making abilities (13 touchdowns) when he tore his ACL against Washington. Will his top receiver be A.J. Green or Tyler Boyd?
Philadelphia (4-10-1 entering Sunday night): The Eagles are ready to give up on quarterback Carson Wentz and they should be in full-on rebuild mode with their banged-up/overpaid roster.
Washington (6-9 entering Sunday night): The last time Washington visited Mile High, Mike Shanahan was its coach and Robert Griffin III its quarterback. Just about everything — including the non-nickname — has changed since 2013.
N.Y. Jets (2-14): The Jets finished hot, winning two of their final three games after starting 0-13. New coach. New quarterback (maybe). The Jets are in a non-stop spin cycle.
Away
Cleveland (11-5): Here’s something new — the Browns have actual organizational momentum thanks to coach Kevin Stefanski, quarterback Baker Mayfield and a great running game.
Dallas (6-10): Expect big changes to the Cowboys’ defense, starting with coordinator Mike Nolan being let go, after Dallas was unable to stop the run. Quarterback Dak Prescott missed most of this year (broken ankle).
N.Y. Giants (6-10): The Giants started 0-5 and lost running back Saquon Barkley, but their defense helped them get into contention for the NFC East crown.
Pittsburgh (12-4): The Broncos’ season started to unravel in their Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh in September — quarterback Drew Lock (shoulder) was lost for two games and receiver Courtland Sutton (ACL) for the year.
Jacksonville (1-15): The Jaguars bottomed out this season to stack up draft picks and get in position to draft quarterback Trevor Lawrence No. 1. Mission accomplished. This should be the most attractive head-coaching opening.
*Does not include opponent options if the league adds a 17th regular season game.
