January is here, and we could all use a unique neighborhood spot to chase away the winter gray.

Check out the newly opened B-Bar, along Bellevue’s Old Main Street. Consider it a bit of a superhero with an alter-ego. By day, it’s a café with deli-style foods and the requisite caffeine jolt, and when the sun goes down, it transforms into a mood-lit cocktail lounge, complete with a full dining menu.

The concept seeks to provide leisure as well as workspace, as the footprint of the café/lounge also includes a coworking lounge and a dedicated area for small events. It’s a unique partnership of owners Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, which utilizes part of the space for executive offices, and the restaurateur expertise of Joe Vilardi (of Bis on Main fame), who shepherds B-Bar’s dining and cocktail experience. If ever there were a reason to cheer the new year, let’s raise a glass (or espresso demitasse) to better days in 2021.
