While Cafe Relish is cooking inside the Rochester Athletic Club, it is serving more than just gym members.
“The big, big thing we want to stress is that we’re open to the public,” Chef Zach Ohly said of the offshoot of Cameo at the Castle. Cafe Relish opened Thursday inside the RAC at 3100 19th St. NW. Both Cameo and Relish are owned by Ohly and his wife, Danika Ohly.
Customers can order and pay online for contactless pick-up in designated “cubbies” or with curbside service as well as a traditional restaurant experience with seating. It will soon also offer delivery.
In addition to a menu with a focus on made-from-scratch salads, sandwiches and wraps, Relish also is serving coffee drinks and specialty cold-pressed juices provided by Breanna Holtan’s Queen City Coffee & Juice.
The Cameo team is very familiar with Holtan and Queen City Coffee & Juice, which was located on the third floor of the Castle. Of course, Cameo at the Castle is also based in the lower level of the same complex at 121 N. Broadway Ave.
While anyone can walk into or order from Cafe Relish, Ohly said his team of 10 employees are mindful of customers working out at the RAC. They have a wide array of grab-and-go sandwiches and drinks available in two coolers.
They are also launching Cafe Relish catering, with box lunches available for group events.
Opening Cafe Relish is just the first order on Ohly’s early spring to-do list. On March 18, Cameo is reopening for dining in the Castle.
“We’re going to come out swinging with a brand new, expanded menu,” said Ohly. “We have not been idle while we were closed. We’ve been ‘playing’ with our food in the test kitchen.”
Cameo fans can expect an array of new items as well as old favorites available for in-person dining, pick-up and delivery, he said.
