The 24-hour giving campaign will begin at 6 p.m. March 4. Because of increased need related to COVID-19 and winter storm recovery, the organization is aiming for contributions from 60,000 individual donors this year, according to a news release by I Live Here I Give Here.
Donations of $5 or more can be placed on the campaign’s website, www.amplifyatx.org, which includes a list of the almost 700 participating organizations. Donations made during the event will be matched by Amplify Austin sponsors, and individual organizations that receive donations may be eligible for additional prizes, according to I Live Here I Give Here.
Amplify Live, a new live event airing on the Amply Austin website, will highlight event sponsors and participating nonprofit organizations, and it will feature Central Texas-based guests and musical performances, according to the news release. The live broadcast begins at 6 p.m. March 4.
Last year, the virtual day of giving brought in 28,000 donations totaling $12.3 million. The Boys & Girls Clubs of The Austin Area, Hospice Austin, YMCA of Austin and the Central Texas Food Bank were the individual nonprofit organizations to raise the most funds in 2020.
Amply Austin has raised more than $69 million over its eight-year run, according to event organizers.
