Six Asian women were among the eight people killed in shootings across three spas in and around Atlanta Tuesday night, leading many to condemn claims from the suspect—a 21-year-old white man—that he was motivated by a sex addiction rather than racism. Here's what we know about the victims so far:

Four people died and one person was injured in the first shooting at Young’s Asian Massage in Acworth, Georgia, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office officials said Wednesday, identifying the four victims as Delaina Ashley Yaun, 33; Paul Andre Michels, 54; Xiaojie Tan, 49; and Daoyou Feng, 44.
In total, seven women, six of whom were Asian, and one man were shot dead in attacks at three massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia, Tuesday.
Elcias R Hernandez-Ortiz, the only survivor, was said to be injured in the attack and is reportedly in stable condition.
A GoFundMe page that looks to have been set up by his wife is seeking to raise $30,000 in medical bills while he is said to be in intensive care while his 9-year-old daughter who spoke to CNN affiliate WGCL, described him as a “really good dad.”
Another GoFundMe page appears to have been set up by someone living with Delaina Yuan and her family hoping to help raise $10,000 to help them through this difficult time.
Police have not released details on the victims from later attacks at Aromatherapy Spa and Gold Spa as they are still being identified.

In a tweet Wednesday, President Joe Biden acknowledged the "enormous pain" felt by the Asian American community: "Jill and I are keeping everyone impacted by the shootings in Atlanta in our prayers. We don’t yet know the motive, but what we do know is that the Asian-American community is feeling enormous pain tonight. The recent attacks against the community are un-American. They must stop."

3,795. That’s the number of anti-Asian hate incidents that were reported across the country between March 2020 and Feb. 2021, according to a report compiled by nonprofit coalition Stop AAPI Hate. The number of hate crimes in 2020 was up by nearly 150% over 2019, making the spike in violence a nationwide issue that had sparked broad concern even before Tuesday’s shootings.
