Cal Fire NurseryThe L.A. Moran Reforestation Center has been growing trees for California since 1921. In the early days, ornamental species were grown for planting along the miles of new highways, in parks and for rural beautification. In the 1940's-1950's a shift was made to conifers and oaks for reforestation. Today, this site is the only State run nursery and is home to the State's only conifer seedbank, which holds enough seed for over 100 Million seedlings.
