A Vestal man who owned a popular establishment on Binghamton's West Side has died.
Jeffrey Kahn, the former owner of Cyber Café West, died on Sunday at the age of 59.
Kahn's wife, Rebecca, on Tuesday said her husband had been well until about seven weeks ago. She said his health declined rapidly after he became ill.
Cyber Café West at 176 Main Street closed less than two years ago. Over the years, the place became a favored hangout for musicians, artists and area residents who wanted to relax and enjoy each other's company.
As noted in an obituary placed by Kahn's family, "Cyber was more than a business. It was his life. It was his identity."
Calling hours and a funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at Temple Concord on Riverside Drive in Binghamton.
