Southlakers are getting a new place to brunch.
Houston-based brunch chain The Toasted Yolk Cafe is opening its first North Texas location at the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center at 2800 E. South Lake Blvd. Occupying a 4,056-square-foot space, the restaurant will serve elevated breakfast and brunch fare alongside soups, sandwiches, salads, and cocktails.
“Expanding into North Texas is something we’ve been wanting to do for a while,” Chris Milton, CEO and co-founder of The Toasted Yolk, said in a statement. “We didn’t want to rush into anything, but we’ve found the perfect location and are confident we have the team in place to execute and replicate our standards of serving high-quality food in an upbeat atmosphere.”
The Toasted Yolk's specialty is its namesake dish, made with two slices of sourdough bread grilled with an egg in the middle of each, cooked to order and served with the customer's choice of bacon, sausage, or turkey sausage. Diners can also indulge in churro-style doughnuts, Irish coffee, or a Bloody Mary.
First launched by co-founders Milton and Mathew De Motto in Conroe, Texas, 11 years ago, The Toasted Yolk is expanding its brand across the Southern part of the U.S., with additional locations planned for Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
The Toasted Yolk's Southlake location is expected to open in late fall.
