After serving Clintonville for more than 22 years, Wildflower Cafe, 3420 Indianola Ave., will close its doors.

Diners have until Sunday, September 26 to score one last meal at the neighborhood gem.

“It has been an impossibly difficult decision to make,” a post on social media announcing that Wildflower Cafe closes soon read. “Even with the incredible support of the community, the last few years have been deeply challenging not only financially and logistically, but also emotionally. We are simply exhausted.”

Wildflower Cafe served up a menu of homestyle eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on the weekends. The cafe had reopened for dine-in seating in early July after operating as a carryout-only destination for nearly a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Thank you to everyone who supported us over the past 22 years, and to our beautiful neighborhood of Clintonville for making us feel so welcomed and loved. We are so proud to have served you,” the post continued. “For us the Wildflower has always been an incredibly special, beautiful, and wonderfully strange place. We have come to know and love so many of you as friends and family. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.”

Wildflower’s hours for its last week are 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday to Friday; Saturday brunch from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and dinner from 3 – 9 p.m.; and Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
