SAUGATUCK, MI-- After 24 years, the waterside Red Dock Cafe in the village of Douglas has closed but you can take home a piece of the popular venue Sunday, Oct. 10 at a sale of memorabilia at Capizzo Studio in Saugatuck.
In September, owners Tony and Dona Amato closed the popular spot, perched on a dock above Kalamazoo Lake, that featured live music.

“I have been so blessed with these loyal, loyal customers for 24 years and then equally blessed with the greatest staffs,” said Tony Amato on Saturday, Oct. 9 as he prepared to sell the memorabilia at Cappizo Studio. “We are heartbroken this chapter is ending but we are celebrating.”
There will be couple hundred pieces for sale that will range in price, including the original bar, a red dog house with a mini corgi inside, bar stools and other furniture, pictures, and signage like a 30-year-old Bud Light sign.
Amato said he has so many memories of music with one of his strongest being his Jerry Garcia birthday party on Aug. 1 that featured Joe Marcinek and several other musical guests.

The memorabilia sale, which will include a silent auction, will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Capizzo Studio is located at 279 Blue Star Highway in Saugatuck. Amato said they will have live music from Flatland Grip.
In June, Amato told MLive he knew this year would be the last on the dock in September 2020. Dock owner R.J Peterson died at the age of 93 on Aug. 11, 2020.
Amato said he had signed 24 one-year agreements with Peterson’s company Tower Marine, which owned both the liquor license and real estate for his establishment. He said the new management board of the marina had a different vision for the space. On Saturday, he said the contract expired Oct. 1.
