Kristine Shive gets a lot of confused looks when customers walk into her business and see a plate of beef tracheas in the front of a bakery-style display case, but fortunately, it’s not for humans. It’s for dogs.
Shive is the owner of Bella’s Bistro & Dog Cafe, a pet wellness store located on North Second Street in Easton that’s geared towards four-legged foodies, and her display case is lined with plenty of other goodies like chicken jerky, raw bones and dog-friendly cookies in addition to the beef tracheas — which are a favorite of Shive’s dog’s, the eponymous 14-year-old adopted pit bull Bella. Shive opened the brick-and-mortar location in late November after a successful run this year at the Easton Farmers’ Market, where dogs would quite literally pull their owners in the direction of the delicious scents.
