OKLAHOMA CITY – The City Rescue Mission recently held a grand opening for its newest venture, the Rise Cafe.
According to the mission’s website, the cafe is a social enterprise designed to equip people with skills needed to rise above tough situations and break the cycle of homelessness. In addition to coffee, cappuccino and lattes, the Rise Cafe, located at the northeast corner of Reno and Shartel and open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, will serve sandwiches, salads, and pastries. Its full menu can be viewed online at www.cityrescue.org/risecafe.
During the ceremony, Lee Copeland of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber presented the mission with a commemorative plaque, a show of appreciation for its “long-track investment in our city and its citizens.”
