Cross Plains café to be featured on America's Best Restaurants - WMTV – NBC15

CROSS PLAINS, Wis. (WMTV) -The Vessel Café will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants Wednesday.

The café and restaurant in Cross Plains opened in the summer of 2021, with menu highlights such as their biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls.

America’s Best Restaurants focuses on shining a light on local, independently owned restaurants. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Krystal and Shaun Williams about the restaurant’s special place in the community.

Krystal Williams is originally from the Cross Plains area, and met her husband while working out in Las Vegas. They moved back to the area in 2020 to be closer to family.

“We want this place to be the vessel for the community, vessel for people to come and have good food, the vessel for you to have conversation, to get away from reality or to have a quiet place to work,” Krystal and Shaun explained. “There’s so many different things people go through and sometimes you just need that vessel to come to you and we wanted to be that place.”

The café located at 1820 Main Street is brimming with family history from wall to wall. “We’re all about family, we’re all about faith, we’re all about community and that’s what we want to do,” Krystal detailed.

The community is invited to come and watch the process at 1820 Main Street as the ABR team is slated to be filming from 9a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 22.

Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are found through customer nominations or by a restaurant applying to be featured. Vessel Café is open Wednesday through Sunday.
