Prince Harry swapped the extravagant cuisine of Buckingham Palace for a more down-to-earth plate of food after it emerged he and his wife Meghan Markle enjoyed a waffle in Harlem, New York.
The 38-year-old visited Melba's in 2021 and was so relaxed that he even nabbed a waffle fry from a fellow customer's plate - and ate chicken with his hands.
The story re-appeared as Harry prepares to return to Britain this weekend to attend King Charles III's Coronation.
Melba Wilson, the owner of the restaurant, reflected on Harry and Meghan's visit in 2021, admitting that she "did not see the Duke of Sussex lick his fingers".
"But he definitely ate a waffle fry from someone else's table", the restauranteur told Page Six, adding: "And he picked up the chicken with his hands, so Harry knows how to eat chicken."

Harry and Meghan's visit came during the COVID-19 pandemic and saw them leave a staggering $25,000 (£20,000) donation to the business, as opposed to a tip.
At the time of their visit, Melba's tweeted that they were "so thankful for their visit and commitment" to their donation, with the owner adding that it was a "very kind" gesture.
The couple's appearance caused a major stir in New York, leaving customers staggered when they turned up.
One surprised diner told the New York Post at the time that the restaurant was still open to the public despite the popularity and fame of the Sussexes.
The insider said: "When they first pulled up, it was maybe two SUVs.
"My boss was like, ‘What’s going on?’ and I very distinctly remember thinking, ‘Whatever, it’s probably some rich person, no reason to stop eating.’ Then he said ‘It’s Prince Harry and Meghan!’"
Melba recalled how Harry and Meghan "did not want the restaurant to be closed", adding: "They went in and talked to everyone.
"Guess they were very concerned about how people were feeling and how we were doing in the food and beverage industry during a specific time."
Harry's love of food is well known, and he even recalled how among his favourite things to do with Meghan was stay in and cook.
Speaking to the BBC in 2017, Harry noted that a "standard typical night for us" was "just roasting a chicken".
Prior to Harry and Meghan's relationship beginning, the Duke of Sussex enjoyed an easier relationship with food, regularly ordering takeaways.
Royal biographer Andrew Morton claimed that this was similar for most of those inside Buckingham Palace, who "eat to live, rather than live to eat".
