EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Coming soon to Eau Claire is a new business that will offer a place for people to shop, sip coffee, and connect with cats.

Mr. Kitty's Cat Cafe & Boutique is opening in early 2024 on South Farwell Street in a building many once recognized as the Eau Claire Community Haven House.

The new business will offer a variety of beverages, snacks, and adoptable rescue cats.

Customers are welcome to dine in, study, relax, and socialize with friends, family, and kitties.

The café has partnered with the Eau Claire County Humane Association. Shelley Janke, director of the shelter said this café will make a purr-fect addition to Eau Claire.

"Eau Claire doesn't have anything like this. We have a lot of great coffee shops and restaurants, but this is the first time that we've had a cat café. We definitely see more of our feline friends coming into our shelters than we do any other types of animals. So, this way we will be able to get a good amount of cats out into the café in hopes that they can find their homes," Janke said.

Once the café opens there will be 10 to 15 adoptable cats wandering the lounge at all times.
