As of Tuesday, Feb. 9, California had fully vaccinated about 1.7% of its population.
According to the California Department of Public Health’s Vaccine Dashboard about 7.6 million doses have been shipped and of those, 4.9 million have been administered. That is up about 1 million vaccinations from last week.
Los Angeles (1.22 million), San Diego (508,287) and Orange (408,645) counties have administered the most doses to date. About 99% of the data is recorded by the patient’s county of residence.

California vaccination phases:
Current tier assignments
In California, 53 of its 58 counties are in the purple tier (considered widespread risk), three counties are in the orange tier (moderate risk) and two are in the red tier (substantial risk) according to the state’s four-tier coronavirus tracking system. Del Norte county is the only county to change since that last report – it went from the purple to the red tier as of Tuesday.
On Nov. 24, the state had 41 counties in purple, 11 counties in red, four in orange, two in yellow.
Counties are assigned to a tier based on metrics showing the speed and the spread of the virus in their borders.
