Love N’ Juice vendor expands footprint at the food cart business

A new coffee business is taking over the kiosk at 11th Street Station in Durango where Taste Coffee used to operate.

Owner of Love N’ Juice Priscilla Newbold, along with her husband Mike Newbold, daughter Charlotte Newbold and mother Teresa Cantor, will take over the coffee kiosk as Cafe Amor.

Love N’ Juice is a juice and smoothie truck already operating at 11th Street Station.

Priscilla Newbold opened Love N’ Juice in December and always wanted to combine her concept of healthy handmade juices with organic coffee and tea. 11th Street gave her the ability to have the two businesses neighbor each other.

“Our main focus at first was Love N’ Juice,” said Priscilla Newbold. “But as soon as we got this opportunity, we decided to take it now when we’re all going to be here together.”

Taste Coffee had been in its 11th Street location since 2017. Earlier this month, owners Ayla Owens and Mike Clarke moved into the former Homeslice location at 2915 Main Ave.

Cafe Amor is awaiting a health inspection before it can open, but the Newbolds are optimistic the coffee shop will be open by Friday.

The Newbolds plan to sell Desert Sun Coffee and offer a variety of teas from Dancing Willow Herbs.

One of the kiosk’s signature drinks will be Cafe de Olla which is a spiced Mexican coffee, usually with cinnamon and dark sugar. Priscilla Newbold said she wants to represent her Mexican culture with some of the items on the menu. In addition, Cafe Amor will offer light and dark roast.

Priscilla Newbold said many Love N’ Juice customers had asked about whether the juice truck sold health teas which inspired the decision to offer them through Cafe Amor.

Mike Newbold said the plan is to sell Teas that help people with ailments like anxiety, stress or gastrointestinal issues.

“We're trying to get people to come and ask about anxiety and tummy problems. We want to try to incorporate that into the business itself,” he said.

The Newbolds are staying true to the organic concept established with Love N’ Juice and will continue to offer vegan pastries from Earth’s Garden Vegan Gourmet Co.

Priscilla Newbold was inspired to open Love N’ Juice through her experiences with breast cancer and finding healthy juice options. She wants to continue to use her businesses to offer food and drink options with health benefits.

“Some people really are asking for teas that will bring them healing and a lot of teas can bring you healing but a lot of people don't know how,” she said.

Mike Newbold said he will likely be running the coffee shop’s daily operations with help from his daughter.

“This is now a family business,” said Priscilla Newbold. “... And that's going to help us long-term.”
