CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A warm and fuzzy business model is moving into the capital city, offering customers the opportunity to combine cuddles and coffee.
The Cups & Cats Café - located at 187 Summers Street - will serve as a foster home for furry friends and serve drinks along with food from local vendors.
"The cats are going to be sectioned off in their own little lounge area," owner Lora Reynolds explained. "They have their own separate space...so you can still see them even if you don't go in."
Aside from window shopping, the cat café plans to partner with the Charleston-Kanawha Humane Association and the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee, a nonprofit organization that helps felines find forever homes.
"You can get coffee and go, or reserve a time to visit the cats," Reynolds added.
Reynolds said construction is underway and a target opening for the café is set for spring of 2024.
